Abstract

Dhaka City is amongst the most populated urban centers in the world and is experiencing enormous transportation issues, resource distribution and environmental sustainability due to the unplanned and rapid growth. Conventional urban planning systems find it difficult to consume and digest the massive data generated on a daily basis in all types of industries. Objective The study investigates the potential of the Big Data Analytics (BDA) to enhance the efficiency of decision-making and urban planning and resource management of the Dhaka City. Methodology I collected various data sets, including population and traffic, waste management, energy consumption, and environmental data. I would then use higher order methods such as predictive modeling, spatial data analysis, and machine learning to identify patterns, identify correlations and predict future trends that can be used to inform future planning strategies. Findings The findings indicate that big data analytics have the potential to actually increase urban management by providing policymakers with real-time data that is accurate. They mention possible benefits in terms of traffic optimization, improved allocation of resources and improved environmental monitoring. The predictive models used in this paper also assist in proactive planning and response to emergencies. Conclusion In general, the implementation of a big data-driven model may make Dhaka a more sustainable and intelligent city. It highlights the significance of data governance, cross-agency cooperation and digital infrastructure to scalable data centric urban development.
