Abstract
Over the past two decades, artificial intelligence has impacted nearly every field, and the media sector is no exception. From news reporting, content creation, news anchoring, ad targeting, to content recommendation based on user preference, AI is used in every phase of media. On the other hand, there are also some ethical and social challenges, for example, spreading misinformation, bias, and privacy violations. So, this study aims to examine the last 24 years (2001-2024) to find out the trends and correlation between variables that indicate how AI integration in media performs in the future. This study uses a quantitative approach, and a time series dataset spanning 2001-2024 was constructed using secondary data collected from reputable sources, including Gartner, Statista, PwC Global Entertainment & Media Outlook, MIT Tech Review, AI Policy Observatory, and EU Commission Reports. Various statistical approaches, such as descriptive statistics, trend analysis, and correlation, have been employed to analyze the variables. The findings indicate that during AI's advanced integration (2020-2024), AI adoption in media farms averages around 84% compared to the average of 21.22% during the AI integration on (2001-2019). This calculation suggests that last few years, huge improvements in the AI adoption rate are almost 295%. A similar upward shift was observed on the remaining variables in the last few years. The integration of AI in global media significantly improved operational speed, efficiency, and automation. So, these developments suggest that in the future, the media will become more responsive and ethically governed.
