The 2nd orientation of AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) was held on 20th September 2014 in the auditorium of AIUB. ACES started its journey on March 27th 2014 with a vision of becoming a professional student organization in providing excellent welfare and services.
The program commenced at around 1:30 pm. The venue was met with near capacity crowd where mostly the new faces of ACES were donned in the newly appointed member’s black t-shirt. Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain (Assistant professor, Faculty of Engineering & Special Assistant, OSA) initiated the ceremony with his invaluable words of encouragement. He also went on to express his close association with the club. Later, Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Assistant professor, Faculty of Engineering & Special Assistant, OSA) welcomed the new members and declared future developments of the club. He also expressed gratitude to Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director, Faculty of Engineering) and Mr. Manzur H. Khan (Director, OSA) for their support & guidance in forming ACES. Mr. Mohammad Rakin Imtiaz (Chairperson, ACES) was next to take the stage to introduce the fresh members to the mission and vision of ACES. Later on, the benefits and privileges that can be gained from such an organisation were highlighted. The audience of the auditorium were then treated to a captivating video, courtesy of the executives from the technical department of ACES, which introduced the current executives and existing volunteers of the organisation and chronicled few major events that were handled by the ACES family. The final segment of the event saw the distribution of the ID cards of the newly enrolled members and a group photo of the newcomers with the mentors, which put a very positive end to the orientation program.
