RedCarpet365 organized Bangladesh Smart City Expo 2019 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka from 28th November, 2019 to 30th November 2019. The aim of this event was to bring up innovative ideas on urban planning, sustainable development, environment, smart energy, economic development construction & technology for sustainability of smart cities. Thus, a competition namely, “Innovation for Smart City” was organized by Bangladesh Innovation Forum. The competition consisted of two rounds. The first round was online idea screening, where 100 teams from all over the country submitted their ideas, and only the top 10 teams were selected to showcase their projects in the event. It’s a matter of great honor, among 100 submitted ideas two teams of AIUB secured position in top 10. Team “Unknown Inventors” was awarded 2nd Runner-up position amongst the top 10 teams. The members of the team “Unknown Inventors” are Md. Samiul Islam Borno (Student, Dept. of EEE, AIUB), Iftakhar Ahmed Hridoy(Student, Dept. of EEE, AIUB), Sanjoy Das(Student, Dept. of EEE, AIUB) and Shoaib Islam Unmesh(Student, Dept. of CSE, AIUB) for their project Electricity Generation from Soil (EARTH-BATTERY). Another team from AIUB named “AIUB Alpha” consisted of three students from Dept. of EEE Fatimah Islam, Md. Imran Hasan and Sabiha Farzana secured position in top 10 for their project titled IoT based Safe Driving System.
