The IEOM Society International successfully organized the 7th IEOM Bangladesh International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (ICIEOM) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on December 21-23, 2024. 18 technical sessions with 141 papers were presented and authored by researchers from 15 different countries on a diverse array of topics such as Sustainability, Green Systems and Energy, Supply Chain and Logistics, Human Factors, Ergonomics and Healthcare, Engineering Management and Project Management etc.
The two-day conference begun with an opening ceremony on December 21, 2024 at the AIUB Auditorium where the Chief Patron Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna, Member, Board of Trustees, AIUB, Conference Chair Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, Conference Co-Chair Dr. Ahad Ali, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) IEOM Society International and Program Co-Chair Professor Don Reimer, Chief Operating Officer of IEOM welcomed and addressed the participants.
The conference featured 13 Keynote speeches from prominent figures including Prof. Dr. Md. The closing ceremony was held on the afternoon of December 22, 2024, where Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor, AIUB delivered the welcome speech of the closing ceremony. This was followed by a brief closing remarks by Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna, where she expressed her appreciation for the participants, volunteers, and organizers. Afterwards, the Program Co-Chair, Dr. Md. Ehasanul Haque, Head, Department of IPE, AIUB debriefed the two-day proceedings and offered their vote of thanks respectively. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of plaques of appreciation to the conference contributors.
The ICIEOM aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering global knowledge-sharing in education and research (SDG 4), promoting innovation and sustainable industrial practices (SDG 9), and enhancing international collaboration among researchers and professionals (SDG 17), the conference contributes to creating a more sustainable and interconnected world.
