A delegation from the Australian High Commission paid a courtesy visit to the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) on May 12, 2026, to discuss potential avenues for future educational collaboration between Australia and AIUB. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen bilateral academic engagement, with discussions focusing on enhancing academic partnerships, expanding student opportunities, fostering innovation, and promoting international collaboration in higher education. During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on potential initiatives aimed at strengthening educational cooperation between Australian institutions and AIUB, creating new pathways for academic excellence and global engagement.
The distinguished delegation from the Australian High Commission included Mr. Vik Singh, Trade and Investment Commissioner and Head of Education, South Asia, Austrade; Mr. Mostafizur Rahman, Senior Director, Trade & Investment, Greater South Asia; and Ms. Megha Gupta, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Australian High Commission, Dhaka.
Representing AIUB were Ms. Shania Mahia Abedin, Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AIUB; Group Captain (Retd.) Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar, AIUB; Prof. Dr. S. A. M. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor, AIUB; and Saadi Islam, Public Relations Officer, AIUB.
The meeting reflected AIUB’s continued commitment to strengthening international partnerships and expanding global opportunities for students and faculty members while fostering greater academic collaboration.
