On 20th November, 2016 a Seminar on Career Talk was organized by AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) at Room No. 266, FE Building, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The guest speakers were Mr. Md. Zakirul Hasan, (Manager of LV/MV Project, Reverie Power and Automation Engineering Ltd, Alumni, AIUB), Mr. Md. Rakib Uddin Khan (Sr. Engineer, Reverie Power and Automation Engineering Ltd., Alumni, AUST) and Mr.Rayhan Mostofa (Assistant Engineer, Reverie Power and Automation Engineering Ltd, Alumni, AIUB).The purpose of the seminar was to introduce the students to the resources and skills necessary for a successful job or internship search.
Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) initiated the event by welcoming the participants and delivered a short speech on power and automation sector and the importance of it. Afterwards, Md. Zakirul Hasan began the session with a short speech by sharing his job experience. He introduced the students to the nature and scope of the work done and familiarized them on the skills necessary to perform certain job functions. Later on, Md. Rakib Uddin Khan took the stage and talked about the high voltage deviation and manufacturing process. He also shared some of his experiences about interviews and getting jobs. At the very end of his speech there was an interactive question answer session between the participants and the speaker.
Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the ending speech and talked about how to boost confidence for interviews and represent own personality. At the end of the session, he presented souvenir in grateful recognition of the invaluable presentation. Mr. Syed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB& Motivator of ACES), Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES),Mr. Kazi Muhammad Jameel (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Mr. Kawshik Shikder(Lecturer ,Faculty of Engineering, AIUB)and Mr. Safayet Ahmed(Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) graced the seminar with their presence. Then the interactive seminar came to an end with a vote of thanks to the speakers also to the participants.
