The American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB) is proud to announce its appointment as the first-ever Regional Ambassador for Southern Asia of the International Green Gown Awards (IGGA), a globally recognized platform celebrating excellence in sustainability within higher education.

This landmark recognition marks a significant milestone for AIUB and further strengthens its long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and responsible higher education practices. AIUB has been a four-time finalist of the International Green Gown Awards, and in 2025, it stood as the only university from Bangladesh to be recognized as a finalist, underscoring its growing regional and global impact in sustainability-driven initiatives.

As an active advocate of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), AIUB continues to embed sustainability across its academic, institutional, and community engagement activities. Much like its global partners, the university is firmly rooted in its local context while maintaining strong international connections, ensuring that its initiatives contribute both locally and globally.

Welcoming AIUB into this expanded role, Tove Hubbard, Sustainability Programme Manager of IGGA, shared:
