On December 23, 2025, the Center for Science-Tech Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD) was formally inaugurated at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), marking the launch of a new “think-to-do tank” dedicated to advancing global cooperation in culture, innovation, science, sports, startup ecosystems, and technology diplomacy. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki (Honorable Cultural Adviser to the Government of Bangladesh), as the Chief Guest. The event was further honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam (Vice Chancellor, AIUB), and Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury (Vice Chancellor, North South University), as Special Guests.
After the inauguration, a panel discussion titled “Role of Science-Tech Policy and Diplomacy in National Development” brought together a diverse group of experts, including : Mr. Md. Salim Ullah (Chairman, BIWTC); Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tarik Arafat (Head, Biomedical Engineering, BUET and Founder Member & General Secretary, CSTPD), Mr. A. K. M. Fahim Mashroor (CEO, bdjobs.com), Mr. Nakib Rahman (COO, Navian Lifescience PLC), Mr. Md. Subail Bin Alam (COO, Rancon Infrastructure and Engineering Ltd. and Founder Member, CSTPD) and Dr. Syed Muntasir Mamun (Director General, International Trade, Investment & Technology). The panelists emphasized the necessity of strong collaboration among academia, R&D, policymakers, bureaucracy, industry, and the private sector to drive sustainable national development.
