The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has achieved a significant milestone as its Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program received official accreditation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) on March 12, 2026. The certificate awarding ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of BAC in Dhaka, where accredited universities were formally recognized for meeting national quality assurance standards.

Representing AIUB at this prestigious event were Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor; Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Dr. Farheen Hassan, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC); and Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty, Associate Professor and Head (Undergraduate), Department of EEE. The accreditation certificates were formally handed over to the representatives of the recognized institutions during the ceremony.

AIUB’s EEE program has demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout the accreditation process. It was the first program in Bangladesh to submit its Self-Assessment Report (SAR) on May 21, 2024, to BAC, marking a pioneering step in aligning with national accreditation standards. Furthermore, AIUB hosted the first-ever External Quality Assessment (EQA) visit conducted by BAC from January 21 to January 23, 2025, reinforcing its role as a trailblazer in institutional quality assurance practices.

In a remarkable achievement, the EEE program secured the highest evaluation score (80%) among all programs from all the other universities reviewed in this accreditation cycle. This distinction reflects the university’s strong commitment to academic excellence, continuous quality improvement, and adherence to rigorous national and international standards in higher education.

The successful accreditation of the EEE program not only enhances AIUB’s academic reputation but also sets a benchmark for other institutions in Bangladesh striving for quality assurance and global competitiveness.
