The visit included a guided tour of the Smart Renewable Laboratories, where officials were introduced to ongoing research in smart grid systems, solar energy applications, energy storage solutions, and automation-based green technologies. Researchers at the laboratory demonstrated various experimental setups and shared insights on current developments in renewable energy innovation, opening doors for potential joint research and student engagement in laboratory-based projects.

Following the tour, a formal discussion was held with the School of Engineering to explore opportunities for academic collaboration. Both parties expressed strong interest in launching joint initiatives such as student and faculty exchange programs, shared research supervision at the postgraduate level, and co-development of training workshops, summer programs, and industry-focused activities. The possibility of collaborative grant applications and the establishment of dual-degree or mobility-based academic pathways was also highlighted as a promising area for mutual benefit. The meeting ended with a shared agreement to begin drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize cooperation between the institutions.

Adding an important dimension to the visit, a diplomat representing Mr. Tanvir Kabir, Counsellor and Head of Chancery, Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Berlin was present and expressed commitment to supporting cross-border collaboration. The diplomat assured assistance in facilitating government-level coordination, funding access, and industry-academic linkage, further ensuring that the proposed partnership could grow into a long-term strategic relationship. The diplomatic engagement was highly appreciated, as it broadens the scope of partnership avenues and offers structured support to future initiatives.

The visit concluded with optimism from both sides, marking it as a meaningful step towards building academic bridges in renewable energy research and engineering innovation. With mutual interest established and follow-up actions underway, the visit set the foundation for a collaborative future between AIUB and SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, expected to benefit students, researchers, and the wider academic community.
