| On the occasion of the 11th South Asian Games to be held in Dhaka from 29 January 2010, the organizing committee in association with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) organized an Open Competition for Design of the Entry Gate and the torch at the Bangladesh National Stadium, Dhaka. The Date of Submission of entries was 10th November 2009 and the result was published on 16th November 2009.
Among the twenty five (25) entries Ar. Dilruba Ferdous Shuvra, one of the Faculties from Department of Architecture, AIUB and her team including Ar. Didarul Islam Bhuyian and Ar. Muajjom Hossain, won the first prize in this prestigious Design Competition. The gate and torch that we’d be looking at during the meet would be the one built as per their award winning entry. We congratulate Ar. Dilruba Ferdous Shuvra and her team on their success.
