The Department of Architecture, AIUB hosted a vibrant and memorable Freshers' Reception on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall of Annex 7. The event, organized by senior students from Studio V to Studio VI, designed to warmly welcome new students from Studio I & Studio IV (Fall 2023-2024 to Spring 2024-2025).

Under the guidance of Ms. Nazifa Zabeen Siddiqua, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Fatema Nur Sumaita, Lecturer, both from the Department of Architecture, the reception served as a lively platform for freshers to integrate into the university’s dynamic academic and social environment.

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech from the Head of the Department, M. Arefeen Ibrahim, who officially welcomed the new students.

The seniors made the freshers feel at home by presenting them with flowers and thoughtful gifts. The atmosphere was filled with a mix of rock and folk music, ensuring a pleasant and welcoming environment. In between performances, the audience was treated to a hilarious comedy play that humorously depicted the life of an undergraduate, leaving everyone in fits of laughter.

The event continued to captivate attendees with musical performances and lively group dances that highlighted the artistic and creative talents of the students. The reception reached its climax with a unique and heartwarming performance where faculty members joined the students on stage, singing together in a display of unity and spirit.
