The Bangladesh Space Olympiad (BSO) – Season 03 was successfully held on Friday, 15 August 2025, by the Bangladesh Space Research Society (BSRS) with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation. Students from across the nation came together to celebrate curiosity, innovation, and discovery in space and science. The grand event took place at the campus of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), whose authorities extended full support and innovative ideas, ensuring the Olympiad’s resounding success.
This year’s Olympiad drew over 1,500 students from across Bangladesh, making it one of the largest space-related gatherings in the country. The event featured multiple engaging segments, including Space Olympiad, Space Art Competition, Poster Presentation, Instant Story Writing, Photography Exhibition, and Treasure Hunt. Additionally, rover teams from BRAC University, Green University, MIST, and IUT participated in the Rover Exhibition, showcasing cutting-edge skills and innovations.
A special seminar on Mental Health was arranged for guardians at the AIUB auditorium, led by psychologists from wEvolve. The session, attended by a full house of parents, proved both insightful and impactful, offering practical guidance and emotional support. AIUB also arranged lunch for all participants, while Nestlé generously provided free Maggi soup at the Amphitheatre, adding warmth and hospitality to the event.
The Olympiad was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Mr. Muhammed Zihad (Barky), Senior Manager of Brands & Communications at Banglalink, along with esteemed academicians from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), such as Ms. Sabrina Islam and Mr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, Lecturers in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Representing AIUB, the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor of AIUB, graced the program with his presence. Mr. Md. Shahariar Parvez, Assistant Professor and Special Assistant (OSA), AIUB, played a pivotal role in providing extensive support on behalf of the university authorities, for which the organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude. The collective efforts of AIUB’s staff and administration further ensured seamless coordination and management of the event.
The day concluded with a Grand Prize Giving Ceremony, where the top 100 winners across four categories were awarded medals and certificates for their outstanding achievements. Winners from other categories, including Space Art, Poster Presentation, Photography, and Instant Story Writing, also received prizes, ensuring that every segment was recognized and celebrated. Moreover, all participants received Certificates of Participation, honoring their valuable involvement in the Olympiad.
