On September 16, 2025, a group of 35 accounting major students from the Department of Accounting, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), accompanied by their course teacher Ms. Sazia Afrin, visited ACNABIN Chartered Accountants, one of the leading professional accounting firms in Bangladesh.

The interactive session was conducted by Md. Abdur Rahman, Jim, Audit Associate of ACNABIN and one of the youngest Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, along with Mr. Gordon Jacob Toscano, Associate Manager of ACNABIN. They shared valuable insights into auditing practices, industry expectations, and the professional journey of becoming a Chartered Accountant. The session provided students with practical exposure to the corporate environment, and a deeper understanding of how theoretical accounting knowledge translates into real-world applications.

The event was further distinguished by the presence of Md. Rokonuzzaman, CPFA, FCA, Managing Partner of ACNABIN and Vice President of ICAB, who has played a significant role in advancing the accounting profession in Bangladesh through leadership, policy development, and capacity-building initiatives. His words of encouragement inspired the students to pursue excellence in both academia and their future careers. This study tour successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and professional practice, enriching students’ perspectives and motivating them to explore diverse career opportunities in the field of accounting.

The competition was organized by Ms. Sazia Afrin, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting with the overall guidance & supervision of Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Head, Department of Accounting.

This initiative reflects the Department’s unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals of Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8) and Ensuring Quality Education (SDG 4). The Department of Accounting humbly appreciates the openhanded support extended by the AIUB Management for successfully organizing the event.
