Singular value decomposition-base fuzzy method for enhancing visual quality of images captured in poor illumination environment

This research proposes an SVD and fuzzy-based method for poorly illuminated image contrast enhancement. First, it fuzzifies an image with a fuzzifier. Next, it defuzzifies the fuzzified image with a defuzzifier to obtain the initialenhanced image. Then, the SVD is applied both for the initially enhanced and the original images. The proposed method has been evaluated against both conventional and cutting-edge fuzzy and crisp ICE methods. The findings indicate the superiority of the proposed method in ICE.
