Health Promotion and Community Outreach

This research area will focus on improving the knowledge, awareness and perception of different aspects of public health and implementing the theory of health promotion and health education. The major objective of this area is to address behavioral change communication (BCC) among the community. We believe that delivering the right information and the way it is delivered will have an impact on the community and society and research evidence on the people’s behavior and their acceptability is needed. This area also is focused on exploring the gaps in health system and health services and research on five (5) areas of Ottawa Charter in Health Promotion (developing personal skills, reorienting health services, strengthening community support, building healthy policies and creating supportive environments) will help the community in changing their behavior.
