On September 3, 2025, the Department of Finance successfully hosted the poster competition titled “Financial Frontiers: Smart Finance Trends – Poster Insight” for the students of the Principles of Finance course of the Summer 2024–25 semester. The event provided an engaging platform for students to showcase their understanding of emerging financial concepts while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and innovation.

The competition was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge of the Faculty of Business Administration, who also served as the Chief Guest of the program. Distinguished guests included Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Professor and Director of the MBA Program, and Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Associate Professor and Director of the BBA Program.

The Poster Competition took place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the exhibition area between Annex 2 and Annex 3 (Level 2), where students enthusiastically presented their innovative insights into modern financial trends. The presentations were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges: Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Professor and Head of the Department of Accounting, and Samia Shabnaz, Senior Assistant Professor of the Department of Management. Their expertise and constructive feedback enriched the learning experience, ensuring a fair and insightful evaluation process.

Following the presentations, the Award Ceremony commenced at 4:45 PM in Classroom 3202, celebrating the accomplishments of the talented participants. The Top Three Teams were recognized with prestigious crests for their outstanding performances, while all participants and program volunteers received certificates for their dedication and valuable contributions. The ceremony was further honored by the presence of respected faculty members including Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Professor and Head of the Department of Marketing; and Dr. Aftab Anwar, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of HRM and Management. Their encouragement highlighted the importance of academic engagement and innovation in financial education.

The event was thoughtfully organized by Bohi Shajahan, Senior Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Finance; Md. Joynal Abedin, Assistant Professor of the Department of Finance and Sports Coordinator; Quazi Nur Alam, Assistant Professor of the Department of Finance; and Nabila Wahid, Lecturer of the Department of Finance.

This initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, reflecting AIUB’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence, fostering innovation, and preparing students to address the challenges of modern finance
