The Freshman Orientation for Fall 2025–2026 of the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) was held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the AIUB campus. The event warmly welcomed newly admitted students from various departments, along with their parents and guardians. It served as an important platform to introduce the students to the university’s academic policies, rules and regulations, and the wide range of resources available to support their educational journey.
Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, attended the program as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring welcome address to the freshmen and their parents. She encouraged the students to uphold discipline, dedication, and creativity as they embark on their academic journey at AIUB. Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, were also present and addressed the audience with words of encouragement and guidance for the upcoming semester.
During the orientation sessions, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS); Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean (In-Charge), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA); Prof. Dr. Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering (FE); and Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Senior Associate Professor and Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), spoke about their respective faculties, highlighting the programs, academic expectations, and opportunities available to students. They were joined by Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi, Associate Dean, FST; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, Associate Dean, FE; Dr. Md. Abdullah-Al-Jubair, Director, FST; Mr. Arefeen Ibrahim, Head, Department of Architecture; and Mr. Hamidul Haque, Head, Department of English, who also addressed the audience.
On behalf of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor; Dr. Ziarat H. Khan, Deputy Director, Student Services and Welfare; Dr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Engineering; Dr. Faria Sultana, Head, Department of Economics; and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director, MBA Program, conducted informative sessions for the new students. They were supported by the OSA representatives from different faculties - Mr. Hamidul Islam, Mr. Shahariar Parvez, Mr. Tamim Hossain, Mr. Stanley Sumon Rodrick, Ms. Shama Islam, Mr. S. M. Abdullah Shafi, Mr. Md. Mazid-Ul-Haque, and Ms. Sifat Rahman Ahona.
Throughout the day, various AIUB Student Clubs set up stalls, sharing information about their activities and engaging with the new students. The orientation concluded with a lively cultural performance by the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC) at the Amphitheater, marking a vibrant and memorable beginning to the new academic year.
