The Department of Accounting successfully organized “From Numbers to Decisions: Managerial Accounting Challenge,” a Managerial Accounting Quiz Competition on 19th August 2026 (Wednesday). The event was designed to promote academic excellence while strengthening students’ analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities in the field of managerial accounting. The competition brought together enthusiastic students, creating an engaging and intellectually stimulating academic environment within the department.

Participants were selected based on their academic performance in the mid-term examinations. Throughout the contest, the participants demonstrated strong knowledge of managerial accounting concepts, analytical techniques, and problem-solving abilities under time-constrained conditions. The competition provided an opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge in a challenging and competitive setting while developing greater confidence, accuracy, and decision-making skills.

In the competition, Abdullah Al Shaleh emerged as the Champion, while Ummey Habiba secured the position of First Runner-up and Sheikh Fahim Zidan became the Second Runner-up. Rumaisa Haque Tasnin achieved the position of Third Runner-up, while Arpita Rani Biswas secured the Fourth Runner-up position in recognition of their excellent performances.

The prize-giving ceremony was held on 24th August 2026 (Monday) in the presence of distinguished faculty members and academic leaders of the Faculty of Business Administration. The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Sazzadur Rahman Khan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Accounting, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of arranging academic competitions on a regular basis. He highlighted that such activities contribute significantly to creating a motivating learning environment while developing students’ confidence, analytical abilities, decision-making skills, and professional competence.

During the prize-giving ceremony, Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director (MBA Program) and Dr. Kamrul Hasan distributed crests among the winners and congratulated them for their outstanding achievements. They also appreciated all the participants for their active involvement, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the competition.

Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers, faculty members, and participating students for their valuable contributions to the success of the event. He congratulated the winners and encouraged all students to remain actively engaged in academic and co-curricular activities as part of their overall educational and professional development.

Beyond recognizing excellence in Managerial Accounting, the event encouraged healthy academic competition, active learning, critical thinking, and effective decision-making. By providing students with opportunities to enhance their knowledge, analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and confidence through an engaging learning environment, the initiative contributed to the advancement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Furthermore, its emphasis on practical knowledge, professional competence, and decision-making skills supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

The event reflects the Department of Accounting’s commitment to promoting quality learning experiences that contribute to students’ academic and professional development.
