The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration, AIUB, organized a study tour to GoldMark Foods Ltd. factory (a concern of Rani Food Industries Ltd), situated in Bahadurpur, Mirzapur, Gazipur on March 10, 2016. Students from the different Marketing Major courses were taken to visit the organization.
Upon the arrival at the factory premise, Md. Aminul Islam, DGM (Production), greeted the students and the faculty members. He provided the guidelines about visiting the factory and shared some valuable points on the quality control operations and standards followed in the different production units of GoldMark Foods Ltd. The students were divided into two groups and then taken to visit their biscuits, chips and cookies production lines. Factory supervisors were also present to guide and brief the students about the total manufacturing process which includes raw materials mixing, rotary molding, baking, cooling, quality assurance check, packaging, finished check, and product release etc.
After the completion of the factory visit, a power-point presentation session was organized. Mr. Mohammad Sazzadul Huq, Manager (Marketing) briefed the students about the marketing strategies, branding, communication tools, and sales & distribution mechanism followed by the organization.
At the end, Mr. Md. Monir Hossain, General Manager (Marketing) appreciated the visiting team for their interest on GoldMark and highlighted some specific issues about the current market position of GoldMark Foods Ltd. in the Bangladesh market and also included the future expansion plans. He then answered to the queries and questions of the students and faculty members. The faculty members then offered their vote of thanks to the distinguished officials of GoldMark Foods Ltd. and presented them with gift packs on behalf of AIUB.
Mr. Stanley Rodrick, and Mr. Hamidul Islam, Assistant Professors, from the Department of Marketing organized the trip in consultation with Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and Dr. Anisur Rahman Faroque, Head, Department of Marketing.
