On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM), under the Faculty of Business Administration at AIUB, successfully organized a masterclass titled “Bridging Theory and Practice: Real-World Applications of Total Quality Management (TQM).” The event took place in Annex-3, Level-2, and was held with enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, who are eager to deepen their understanding of TQM's role in achieving operational excellence.
The masterclass featured Md. Abid Al Rabbi, Factory Head at Butterfly Group and a former Head of Quality Assurance at the organization was the guest speaker. Drawing from his extensive experience in the manufacturing industry, Mr. Rabbi provided valuable insights into the practical applications of TQM principles. His session highlighted how effective quality management strategies can drive organizational success and enhance manufacturing efficiency. He also emphasized the essential skills students need to develop to become competent and competitive in this field.
The program began with an opening address, setting the stage for an engaging and informative session. Md. Zahidul Anam, Lecturer in the OSCM Department, served as the coordinator and Master of Ceremonies, ensuring the seamless flow of the event. Following the keynote presentation, an interactive Q&A session allowed attendees to pose questions directly to the speaker, fostering meaningful discussions on TQM’s practical challenges and solutions for sustainable growth of manufacturing organizations.
Concluding the event, a closing speech was delivered by Dr. Md. Tamzidul Islam, Head of the Department, OSCM. He then presented a crest and gift pack to Md. Abid Al Rabbi as a token of appreciation for his insightful contributions. Special thanks were extended to the OSCM Department for their dedicated efforts in organizing the program. The masterclass provided attendees with a deeper understanding of TQM and its significance in the manufacturing sector, leaving them inspired and well-informed.
