MoU Signing Between AIUB and Habitat for Humanity International Bangladesh
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for Academic and Intellectual Co-operation has been signed between Habitat for Humanity International Bangladesh (HFHI-B) and American International University Bangladesh (AIUB), at the administrative premises of AIUB on 13th December 2015. The MoU was signed by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Honorable Vice Chancellor, AIUB and John A. Armstrong, National Director, HFHI-B on behalf of their respective organizations.AIUB, as an academic organization, has been long committed to community development through academic research and projects, awareness raising programs and collaborative efforts. On the other hand, Habitat for Humanity International has been a global non-profit organization working in around 70 countries, pioneer in providing housing solutions to low-income families. HFHI-B and AIUB shares a history of co-operation, since AIUB Architecture students had participated into ‘Youth Build 2013’ organized by HFHI-B, while earlier this year, AIUB Dep’t of Architecture and HFHI-B jointly organized a two-day workshop on “Safe Sanitation for Our Habitat: Strategies for Architects” for Architecture students and young professionals at AIUB campus 7. The MoU is hoped to strengthen the relationship and to promote cooperation in education and research towards institutional capacity-building and sustainable community development.
