His Excellency Vicente Vivencio Bandillo, Philippine Ambassador to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh donated books to the Library of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on Tuesday, 27 August 2019. The donation coincides with the celebration of the Philippine National Language Month. To make the event more meaningful and interesting to the audience, a video presentation about the AIUB was shown and another video about the Philippines entitled: It’s More Fun in the Philippines. On hand to receive the initial book donation is the honorable Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna witnessed by the other Philippine Embassy Officials and the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Vice President Academics, Deans, Academic and Nonacademic Directors, Department Heads, Course Convenors and campus officers of the university. The handover of the books was preceded by messages delivered by the Ambassador and a response from the VC who also presented an AIUB Crest to the Ambassador.
The arrival of the Ambassador together with the 10 officers from the Philippine Embassy were heartily welcomed by the Vice Chancellor and other officers of the university. The party was ushered to the different buildings, laboratories and classrooms of the university. They were toured around the campus riding on a solar powered car, designed and developed by the Engineering students of AIUB.
