On Thursday, May 7, 2026, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a technical session at Annex 3 of American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB). The session was held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and focused on emerging concepts in approximate computing and machine learning applications in VLSI systems, aiming to provide students with insights into modern computational techniques and their impact on advanced engineering technologies.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain (Professor and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), who highlighted the importance of innovation and research in engineering education and encouraged students to explore contemporary technological advancements. The technical session was conducted by Mr. Mohammad Ashiqur Noor (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), who focused on the integration of approximate computing techniques into machine learning hardware design, emphasizing power efficiency, computational optimization, and the growing significance of VLSI systems in modern intelligent applications. The session provided participants with valuable insights into current research trends and practical implementations in the field of electrical and electronic engineering.
Toward the end of the program, tokens of appreciation were presented to the speaker by Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Professor and Director Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), and Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi (Associate Professor [EEE], AIUB) in recognition of the valuable contribution to the seminar. The event concluded with an interactive discussion session, where students engaged with the speaker and gained deeper understanding of approximate computing, machine learning integration, and future opportunities in VLSI research and development.
