The Composition of Board of Directors and their Compensation: Survey Evidence from Large Companies in South East Asia
The seminar was held on 16th September, 2009 at 11.00 A.M. in the auditorium of campus 1 of American International University - Bangladesh. The seminar paper was organized by the Department of Finance, AIUB and the key note presented by Syed Abduall Al Mamun, faculty of the same department.
Program:
Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences was present as the chief guest. Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Head, Department of Finance & Accounting chaired the program as session chairman. Several faculty members and students were also participated in the program.
The whole session was segmented into two parts. In the first part, the key results of the study were presented with its background and its further scope of development. The second and best part of the seminar was active participation of the chief guest, session chair, faculty members and students.
The chief guest of the seminar delivered his speech at the end of the program and encouraged all the faculty members and students to conduct more seminars where it is possible to share ideas and enrich knowledge. He has also given special thanks to the head of the Department of Finance to arrange the seminar on behalf of any department for the first time in the current semester. Dr. Charles pointed out several important issues that can obviously lead the participants to find out new research problems. He suggested to do some work on corporate governance in Bangladesh as well and link it in the class room discussion. |
