ICT Division Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology, both Peoples Republic of Bangladesh & Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) have organized a mammoth and surprising ICT exhibition named “BANGLADESH ICT EXPO 2015”. The expo was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), Agargaon Dhaka during June 15-17, 2015. On 15 June 2015, Monday at 12.15 pm, BANGLADESH ICT EXPO 2015 was opened by Honorable President of People’s Republic Bangladesh, Mr. Abdul Hamid. In the Research and Innovation category, there were in total 59 innovative projects. Top 3 innovation were awarded at the ceremony for their wonderful innovations. Among them the best innovative project of the year was crowned to the project named, “EARTHQUAKE MONITORING AND WARNING SYSTEM” from American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB). Four students, from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department (EEE), Rahinul Hoque, Shoaib Hassan, MD. Akter Sadaf and Asadullahil Galib, did this project under the supervision of Ms. Tahia Fahrin Karim, (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering). A crest & prize money was also awarded to this group for outstanding innovation. The whole event was graceful with the presence of the ministers and representatives of government institutions e.g. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith (Finance Minister, Ministry of Finance), Zunaid Ahmed Palak (State Minister, ICT Division), Mr. Shyam Sunder Sikder (Secretary, Ministry of Information), Mr. A.H.M Mahfuzul Arif (President, Bangladesh Computer Samity), Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmed (President, Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry) & Mr. Imran Ahmed (President, Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology).
