On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the IEEE AIUB Student Branch proudly supported the second day (The Contest) of “VLSITHON 3.0”, organized by ULKASEMI in association with ULKASEMI VLSI Training Institute (UVTI) and hosted by American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The competition provided participants with a practical platform to challenge themselves through tasks focused on physical design for the semiconductor industry.

The program commenced with the competition, where participants demonstrated their technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of VLSI and semiconductor technologies. During the competition, Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi, Associate Professor and Deputy Director, Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation, Department of EEE, AIUB and Dr. Gour Chand Mazumder, Assistant Professor, FE and Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, AIUB visited the participants, motivated them throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Mr. Ataus Shafi, Consultant, Physical Design, ULKASEMI Pvt. Limited, provided technical support, while Mr. Adnan Khandokar Alif, Senior Executive, Branding & PR, ULKASEMI Pvt. Limited and Mr. Saqib Saqlain, Executive, Branding & PR, ULKASEMI Pvt. Limited, oversaw the event proceedings. Dedicated IEEE AIUB Student Branch volunteers along with UVTI volunteers provided continuous support to ensure the smooth coordination of the competition.

The competition resumed after a one hour lunch break, allowing the participants to continue demonstrating their technical expertise and problem solving skills in a highly competitive environment. Following the competition, participation certificates were distributed to the contestants in recognition of their participation.

The competition started at 10:15 AM (GMT +6) and concluded at 4:15 PM (GMT +6). A total of 200+ participants attended the competition.
