On February 15, 2024, Department of Computer Engineering (CoE), AIUB in collaboration with Code-19 organized a workshop titled "An Introduction to Arduino’s MKR Family and IoT Development Boards" which was supported by AIUB community of Engineering students (ACES). The program started at 3 PM with 45 participants at DN0310, D-Building, AIUB. The purpose of the workshop was to inform the students about Arduino's MKR family which offers a range of powerful development boards specifically designed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The event inaugurated with a warm introduction by the speakers, Mr. Shamsul Arifin (Senior IoT Engineer, Code 19 limited), Mr. Khan Muhammad Nafiul Akbar (Co-Founder, Agronochain and product development consultant. Code 19 limited). Mr.Akbar started the session with an introduction on Arduino’s MKR Family which states Narrowband IoT, Lo-Ra, SigFox, Sheilds Add Ethernet and CAN connectivity. Furthermore, he explained different types of topics, for example Wi-Fi 1010, ENV Sheid, WAN 1310. Later, Mr.Arifin discussed the selection criteria of different sensors according to range, accuracy, output types, environment, collaboration, range of controllers and costing. They ended the session by demonstrating two hands on application controlled by Arduino MKR.
Then, a short Q/A session was held for the participants. Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Associate Professor & Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) concluded the workshop by thanking the speakers and presenting a token of appreciation to the speakers.
This webinar successfully covered the following goals out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the UN: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)
