As part of the ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry, on Saturday, February 24th the IEOM AIUB Student Chapter, organized an enlightening industrial visit to Fakir Fashion, one of the leading garment manufacturers in Bangladesh. Fakir Fashion, renowned for its commitment to quality and sustainability, provided an insightful glimpse into the intricate workings of the textile industry.
The visit commenced with a warm welcome and an insightful overview of Fakir Fashion's organizational structure and objectives by the gracious hosts. Students and faculty members were then divided into groups, each guided by knowledgeable representatives from Fakir Fashion. These groups embarked on a comprehensive tour, exploring various segments of the manufacturing process, including the Knitting zone, Dyeing zone, and Cutting & Sewing zone.
Following the immersive tour, the students reconvened for an interactive session, further deepening their understanding of industrial engineering principles. The host initiated a thought-provoking question-answer session, encouraging students to reflect on their observations and learnings from the tour. In turn, students enthusiastically posed queries, seeking clarification on various aspects of Fakir Fashion's operations and the broader industrial landscape.
As the visit drew to a close, expressions of gratitude filled the air as faculty members and IEOM representatives extended heartfelt thanks to the Fakir Fashion team. On behalf of AIUB, Mr. Mahamudul Hassan, Assistant Professor, FE and Mr. Abu Shufian, Lecturer, FE presented token of appreciations to the representatives of Fakir Fashion.
