On Thursday, September 18, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) Research Cell successfully organized its sixth research proposal presentation. The session was marked by enthusiastic participation and reflected the growing research culture within the faculty.
Ms. Tamanna Nazneen Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, delivered her presentation on a timely and thought-provoking research idea. Her proposal examines the growing influence of one of the world’s most widely used social media platforms and raises the question of whether it can move beyond being a source of entertainment. She highlighted how the platform’s unique features could serve as tools for knowledge dissemination and entrepreneurial growth. Ms. Rahman has already initiated her research and so far has received many positive responses from her survey participants, which indicates the relevance and timeliness of her work. By addressing these perspectives, the research holds the potential to contribute significantly to the fields of academia, management and digital innovation.
Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, the Honorable Dean of FBA, attended the session and expressed his deep appreciation for the uniqueness of the topic. He remarked that as this major social media platform has long deserved attention from researchers and studies of this kind are both timely and significant. He also emphasized the importance of selecting appropriate samples and applying robust analysis techniques, encouraging the presenter to ensure methodological rigor. The session was further enriched by the presence of the BBA Program Director, heads of different departments, and several faculty members. They actively engaged in the discussion, expressed their interest in the proposal, and shared constructive opinions to strengthen the research. Participants also noted that as the current generation Z is deeply engaged with various social media platforms, studies exploring their potential beyond entertainment could open up new opportunities. They emphasized that if such platforms can be utilized effectively for educational purposes, it may create a strong momentum in shaping modern learning practices and entrepreneurial activities.
The session concluded with an atmosphere of encouragement and optimism, as participants appreciated both the relevance of the topic and the presenter’s dedication to exploring new academic avenues.
