The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a Post-Conference Presentation Seminar on Thursday, Feb 26, 2026, where faculty members shared their recently presented research works at various reputed international conferences. The seminar provided an opportunity for faculty members and students to learn about current research trends, methodologies, and findings presented in international academic forums.
Ms. Farzana Bente Alam, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, FST, AIUB, presented her research on Enhancing Blockchain Security in Bangladesh Using AI and ML. The work was presented at the International Conference on Power System Protection and Control 2025, held in Hong Kong.
Dr. Mohammed Mostafizur Rahman, Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics, FST, AIUB, presented his research on Comparative Study of Sentiment Classifiers on Chat Data. The paper was presented at the 5th International Conference on Applied Intelligence and Informatics 2025, held in Washington, D.C., United States.
Md. Mortuza Ahmmed, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, FST, AIUB, shared his research on Automated Pavement Distress Detection. The work was presented at the 2nd International Conference on Smart Mobility and Logistics Ecosystems (SMiLE) held at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Kamruddin Nur, Professor, Department of Computer Science, FST, AIUB, presented three of their research works on encompassing accurate anemia disease detection using eye conjunctiva features with improved YOLOv9, iris recognition for ATM fraud prevention through the ATM-FraudPrev framework, and pothole size estimation and classification using YOLOv12 alongside geometric feature thresholding. These works were presented at the 2025 17th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE) held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Afsha Sharmin, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, FST, AIUB, presented their research on Comparative Framework for CKD Detection Using Gradient Boosting. The research was also presented at the 2025 17th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The seminar highlighted the diverse research contributions of AIUB faculty members in areas such as artificial intelligence, deep learning, cybersecurity, healthcare analytics, and intelligent transportation systems. Through these presentations, the speakers shared their research insights, methodologies, and international conference experiences with colleagues and students, fostering academic collaboration and research engagement within the university.
