Chemistry Lab
The Chemistry Laboratory of Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at AIUB under Faculty of Health & Life Science is equipped with modern instrumentation and updated facilities to support both academic and research activities in the biochemical sciences. It provides students with hands-on laboratory practice, emphasizing precision, accuracy, and experimental efficacy across analytical, organic, and biophysical chemistry. The laboratory offers a wide range of practical work, including titration (acid–base, redox, and complexometric), gravimetric analysis, chromatography, and basic spectroscopic techniques. Students will develop skills in solution preparation, quantitative analysis, pH analysis, enzyme kinetics, biomolecule analysis, compound synthesis, and characterization etc., which enables them to apply chemical principles to biological systems. In addition to routine coursework, the lab will facilitate a range of academic and research projects, including environmental monitoring, drug and formulation analysis, food and water quality assessment, and biochemical investigations etc. The laboratory operates under strict safety and quality protocols, building critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in scientific investigation.
Molecular Biology Lab
The Molecular Biology Laboratory of Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at AIUB under Faculty of Health & Life Science is designed to facilitate advanced studies and updated research practices in genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology with modern instrumentation and updated facilities. It is equipped with essential tools for DNA and RNA extraction, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), gel electrophoresis, and other molecular techniques. The lab offers students for hands-on training with a focus on precision and efficiency, enabling students to explore gene expression, DNA amplification, genetic engineering, and modern biotechnological applications in a well-controlled environment. In addition to coursework, the lab will facilitate a range of academic and research projects, including disease-related genetic studies, biotechnology, microbial genetics, drug development research, and molecular diagnostics etc. The laboratory maintains a controlled environment with standard safety and quality practices, helping students develop strong technical and analytical skills.
Microbiology Lab
The Microbiology Laboratory of Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at AIUB under Faculty of Health & Life Science provides updated facilities with modern instrumentation for the study of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It offers students for hands-on training in culturing, staining, and identification techniques, with a strong focus on precision, aseptic handling, and effective laboratory practice. The laboratory covers a wide scope of practical work, including microbial isolation, growth analysis, antibiotic sensitivity testing, and basic immunological techniques. It supports learning in fields such as medical microbiology, environmental microbiology, industrial microbiology, and public health. In addition to regular coursework, the lab will facilitate a range of academic and research projects, including pathogen identification, antimicrobial resistance studies, food and water microbiology, and environmental monitoring etc. The laboratory follows standard safety and quality procedures, helping students develop strong technical and analytical skills for healthcare, research, and industry applications.
