An event entitled “Practicing Business” was organized by the Department of Marketing in association with the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on September 07, 2025.
The main attraction of the event was the stalls of different types of food and non-food items, and sweets arranged in the open area between Annex 4 and Annex 5 of the University. Stalls were operated by the students of different departments of FBA, and CSE. Each team brought various unique items from different districts to create a competitive environment, putting into practice the theoretical concepts they learnt in class.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member, AIUB Board of Trustees, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge, FBA, Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director BBA Program, Prof. Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, & International Business along with other Heads and Teachers and the Officials of AIUB were present at the inauguration ceremony. They visited all the stalls and shared their valuable feedback on the ideas and presentation of each of the teams.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, the Hon. Vice Chancellor, as he joined later upon his arrival at the campus. The delegates lead by the Hon. Vice Chancellor also visited the stalls and appreciated the students a lot. Respected faculty members and administrative officials, as well as numerous students also participated in the event, encouraging the teams in their endeavors.
The students were delighted to be present at the event. The objective of organizing this event was in line with key sustainable goals (SDG) of the United Nations “Quality Education” and “Responsible Consumption and Production.” The focus of the Department of Marketing and Department of Tourism and hospitality management on organizing this type of event reflects AIUB's commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to nurturing future professionals in the domain of tourism and hospitality management.
