The Department of English, AIUB organized a workshop on “Translation: Art and Industry” on Wednesday, 15 May 2024 at AIUB campus. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Mojaffor Hossain, Translator at Bangla Academy. He is also a notable fiction writer & literary critic of contemporary Bangla literature. The workshop focused on the history and theories of translation from both Eastern and Western perspectives. The facilitator also talked about the status of translation in Bangladesh and shared varied opportunities where students can get involved in translation as a profession. The participants of the workshop engaged in hands on translation activity and explored the various nuances and challenges of translation. The workshop ended with the distribution of certificates among the participants.
