FBA Awards

The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), AIUB, organizes the awarding ceremony to honor the BBA, MBA, and EMBA students who have excelled in their academic performances. The awards are entitled as ‘The FBA Dean’s List’ for the BBA Program and ‘Dean’s Honorable Mention’ for the MBA and EMBA Program students.

Since Fall 2016-2017 Semester onwards, such awarding programs are regularly organized by FBA, AIUB, and the recipient students are felicitated with a certificate of achievement. To date, the award categories of ‘The FBA Dean’s List’ was achieved by 702 students of the BBA Program, and ‘Dean’s Honorable Mention’ was achieved by 536 (MBA) and 251 (EMBA) students, respectively.

Based on the following criteria, the students are carefully assessed to enable them to qualify for these prestigious academic awards:

DEAN’S LIST CRITERIA (Undergraduate Program)

  • Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) is 3.75 during any Regular Academic Semester.

  • Eligibility: Minimum Credit Hours to be completed 24.

  • Minimum Credit Load during that Semester 14/15 Credit Hours.

  • No Grade Point (GP) less than 3.25 in any course in the previous record.

  • No F, no W, no UW, or no I grade in any course in the previous record.

  • No disciplinary action has been taken for not complying with AIUB policy.

DEAN’S HONORABLE MENTION CRITERIA (Graduate Program)

  • Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) 3.85 during any Regular Academic Semester.

  • Minimum total load completed 18 Credit Hours.

  • Minimum Credit Load during that Semester 14/15 Credit Hours.

  • No Grade Point (GP) less than 3.25 in any course in the previous record.

  • No F, no W, no UW, or no I grade in any course in the previous record.

  • No disciplinary action has been taken for not complying with AIUB policy.

In addition to the existing award categories, FBA, AIUB, from Spring 2022-2023, initiated a new category of acknowledging an alumnus from the Business School every semester. To recognize the contribution of the alumni to the corporate, society, and the country's economy, FBA has decided to honor one alumnus each semester with a plaque of appreciation. The principal objective of this award is to acknowledge the FBA alumni who have completed their graduation from different FBA departments and are currently working in diversified fields of business in local markets and abroad. Apart from increasing the university's bonding with the alumni, this drive will also encourage the current students to get confidence and prepare themselves for the future corporate world.

The AIUB Alumni are integral factors in the University’s overall brand image, and their contribution to developing the Academia-Industry linkages is noteworthy. Therefore, such recognition will enrich the graduate’s bonding with their alma mater in the long run.
