-Vocational training events (lifelong learning)
- Host events at university that are open to the general public: executive education programmes
AIUB’s vocational training strand bridges academic knowledge and workforce skills through a mix of structured programmes and ad-hoc training. Faculties and institutes run short courses (e.g., grant-writing, translation, research skills, financial literacy) designed for external participants and tailored to immediate employability needs. Many of these are programmed (scheduled series with follow-up sessions and certificates), while others operate ad-hoc in response to partner requests or topical themes. For example, the grant-proposal workshop provided templates and scoring criteria to help researchers and practitioners prepare fundable proposals, while the financial-literacy seminar targeted practical money management skills. The Institute of Continuing Education and CETL coordinate periodic professional development and upskilling courses linked to local industry demands, and student clubs add hands-on clinics in coding, research tools and makerspace practices. These activities intentionally provide vocational content — applied project work, tool demonstrations, and assessment checklists — and are advertised to alumni, industry partners and the public. Several sessions lead to certificates or documented participation that support career transitions. By combining periodic programmed courses with responsive ad-hoc workshops, AIUB sustains an ecosystem of vocational training that expands access to skills for non-traditional learners and community professionals.
