Collaboration of AIUB with NGOs for SDGs

AIUB demonstrates a robust commitment to collaboration with NGOs and institutional partners to tackle the SDGs across multiple fronts. The university actively promotes student volunteering programmes that build civic responsibility and address immediate community needs. Prime examples include the AIUB Shomoy Club's collaboration with the NGO Bangladesh Red Crescent Society for blood donation campaigns (SDG 3) and its "Oder Eid, Amader Khushi" program with Kathpencil Pathshala, an NGO school, to fight hunger (SDG 1, SDG 2). Students also independently organize large-scale relief efforts, such as standing with flood-effected communities (SDG 11).

In parallel, AIUB drives targeted research programmes through strategic partnerships. This includes a major collaboration with the NGO BASIS to host the NASA Space Apps Challenge, fostering innovation to solve global challenges (SDG 9). The university also signs MoUs with organizations like Krishi Shwapno to advance smart agriculture (SDG 2) and the Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI) to promote sustainable infrastructure (SDG 11). International research programmes with partners like Luleå University and grant-funded research like the BAS-USDA project on fisheries (SDG 2, SDG 3) underscore this commitment.

Moreover, AIUB focuses on the development of educational resources by partnering with specialized NGOs. This includes hosting the "Shomotontro" initiative with BRAC to promote gender justice (SDG 5) and working with WePower to empower women in the power sector (SDG 7). Seminars and workshops in collaboration with NGOs like Grameen Shakti (Climate Action), Orange Corners, and the Women Entrepreneurs Association (SDG 8) provide students with vital skills for sustainable development.
